PTV xServer – great players in OGC environment

More and more projects and customers want to have standard interface to get geographical data. One of the most popular standards consortium is OGC (About OGC).
OGC delivers a bunch of standards in a wide range of different use cases.

Some of these standards could be used to get maps, POI search and routing results. Results in OGC format can be easily processed with a lot of tools and software solutions. In order to get these advantages to our customers, PTV has developed several adapters to get PTV xServer results in an OGC standard format to the customer. These adapters act as an interface to PTV xServer but are not yet included in the standard product portfolio.

PTV xMap Server delivers WMS service to integrate PTV maps easily with other data from external vendor. With a Directory Service based on PTV xLocate Server POIs can be searched by name and category. Geocoding based on PTV xLocate Server as well can be used by Open LS Location Service and Routing based on PTV xRoute Server via Open LS Routing Service. The entire profile parameters of PTV xServer can be still used whereas results are limited to OGC response types.

An example of these technologies can be found here: http://www.bayerninfo.de/
