Easily add PTV xServer functionality to your .NET applications with our new .NET SDK release. The new.NET SDK 1.6 is now compatible with PTV xServer API version 1 and 2, unfortunately the DemoCenter is still only available for API version 1.
Changes and Optimizations
- Added support for integration of XMap2 Layers including Feature Layers
- Added support for integration of Web Map Tile Services (WMTS)
- Optimized tile caching and pruning
- The InifiniteZoom property (to avoid jitter at deep zoom levels) is now set to true by default. This setting should be compatible with the previous setting. If you experience problems with your custom layer implementation, you can set it back to false. However, this property will be removed in future releases.
- The MemoryPressureMode flag is ignored and marked as obsolete.
- The protocol for the provider returning tooltip information has changed. Now the provider now must implement IUntiledProviderWithMapObjects:GetImageStreamAndMapObjects().

Software Development Kit
Customers with maintenance plan can download the .NET SDK from our Customer Area in our Developer Zone. After download the following components are available:
- PTV xServer .NET components: map controls and other supporting functions for the creation of client applications.
- Demo Center: Sample program illustrating typical scenarios and use cases of PTV xServer applications: map visualisations, routing, trip planning etc. The Demo Center is only available for API Version 1. The source code of the Demo Center is also included in the SDK for the retracing of the implementation.
- Code Samples: Exemplary implementations demonstrate the utilization of the PTV xServer .NET components, e.g. map layers, rendering, routing demos etc.
- Documentation: How-to descriptions, technical concepts and SDK reference in CHM-format.
Open Source project in GitHub
The PTV xServer .NET SDK is now also available as an open source project in GitHub. We decided to give the community the possibility to work on the source directly and modify it for their own needs. The GitHub project consists of:
- PTV xServer .NET components: map controls and other supporting functions for the creation of client applications.
- Code Samples: Exemplary implementations demonstrate the utilization of the PTV xServer .NET components, e.g. map layers, rendering, routing demos etc.
- Documentation: How-to descriptions, technical concepts and SDK reference in HTML format.
